Have you ever procrastinated on purchasing a tool because you weren't sure you needed it, while the thought of buying it played over and over in your mind? Don't think you are the only one!
I'm a HUGE advocate of investing in tools and accessories, especially if it saves me time or money.
I want to share with you one of the most underrated tools that I find myself using all the time.
Drum roll please...
I am talking about an apron.
I know what you must be thinking... Matt, It's an apron....
Give me just a few minutes of your time here. I want to share with you five reasons why you should use an apron.
Disclaimer* The brand of apron that I am using is Texas Canvas Wares. After a year of owning the apron, I reached out to the owner and we decided to do a video collab. Take a look on Amazon and you will notice yours truly in the product video. With that being said, this blog post and video below is completely unbiased - Texas Canvas Wares is not sponsoring this post.
Spoiler alert, I do love this apron! Let's dive in!
#5 It Keeps You Organized
Imagine that you have three to four essential tools you are using on a project. You put one of the tools down for a few minutes then go back to pick it up... but where did it go?
I know I am not the only one that this has happened to, right?
I can keep my essential tools from "disappearing" while I'm working on a project with this apron. It is scientifically proven that cluttered work environments will drain your focus and stifle your creativity.
I have found that using an apron keeps me organized and helps foster a cleaner work environment, which keeps me focused.
#4 Saves You Money Over Time
Cool dust mask, right? You can pick yours up on Amazon here.
I view this apron as my work attire.
By wearing the apron, I'm not spending money on new work clothes, nor am I wearing out my old work clothes. This apron is built for harsh environments and will protect your everyday clothes.
Investing in protective work gear like this apron will save you money in the long run.
#3 Saves You time
You could fit this in category number five, but I wanted to keep this one separate.
Everyone wants to save time.
This is where the functionality of the apron shines. Keeping essential tools on me reduces the time spent looking for them.
You would be surprised by how much time is stolen from you while you from searching for misplaced tools in a cluttered work environment.
I found that at the end of the day, I saved myself much time by wearing this apron.
#2 Protects your clothes
Not all aprons are made equal....
One thing I love about this apron is that is has a layer of protected wax that guards against spills and stains.
Do you see how water bubbles up when poured over the apron?
The protective wax protects the fibrous layers of canvas, locking out liquids and helping to block stains and kickbacks. This feature also extends the life of the apron itself.
#1 Ready, Set, Work!
When I put this apron on in the morning, I know it's time to get focused. It's like getting in your vehicle and putting on your seat belt. You know that you're going to take off and get to your destination.
When I am wearing this apron I am prepared, focused and ready to tackle my project.
I personally feel a huge "mental" boost when wearing this apron. I like to view it as my work uniform.
Wearing the apron is a constant reminder that you are at work, which helps eliminate distractions.
Does this sound weird to you? I dare you to try it out. Thank me later.
Features
I really wanted to avoid this from becoming another "boring" review. This blog was written to touch on the benefits that I personally receive from using my apron, so I will not be listing all the features.
